I’m off to get on a real life airplane tomorrow for the first time in over a year! (Is it weird to miss airport security?) Anyway, I won’t be putting up a post this weekend. I wanted to take this chance to ask you all a few questions…
What day/time of the week are you most thinking, “Man, I wish I had a Substack newsletter to sink my teeth into!” (if ever)?
What kinds of topics are you most interested in discussing here?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
1. Sunday morning is a great time to read a PW Substack newsletter.
2. The best part about PW posts are that they give me a different perspective on whatever topic Marie writes about. I also appreciate that it seems there are more women commenters. Another blog I like (Slow Boring) seems to have about a 98%+ male commenter rate. Recently, there was a post about how women are very electable, but the commenters latched onto a comment about male politicians and that was then what dominated the thread. Just for once, I'd appreciate a less male-oriented discussion of major issues. I'd appreciate a nuanced, thoughtful treatment of issues that affect more than just privileged Americans. Less on cutting-edge technology, Bitcoin, SATs, paying for grad school, etc. and more on how we can do better as a society to help regular, less affluent people live a good life in America.
Hey! Yeah I’m still around, I’ve been working on a post with a lot of data analysis for a few weeks, it’s almost ready to share. What would you be interested in hearing me and Elana discuss? I’m game!
Not sure, but I'd read pretty much anything. Indeed, just spitballing, it could be interesting to hold conversations with several of the regular SB commenters.
An African or European swallow?

3. ????
I would like to read something like that.
1. Mid-week; 2. Surprise me (as my wife’s uncle said when asked for input to the planning of his funeral) 3. You got me
if you are still reading these...
Your comments on SB offer some astute interpretations and perspectives. I'd enjoy reading posts in which you develop and extend some of those posts.
Also, a conversation between you and "Elana" (another SB commenter - seems to be a doctor) would be a must-read.

1. Never. I had sworn off getting any more, before reading this caused me to break my vow.
2. Just starting, never read your Slow Boring comments, but like what I've read so far.
3. What do you mean, a European or an African swallow?
Sunday mornings would be my vote for a good stubstack post. Any post sounds good.
I would love to hear more about your experiences as a woman in engineering.
